Foundations of Justice: High School Summer Law Academy

Foundations of Justice is a one-week, immersive, overnight program designed to introduce high school students to the foundations and real-world practice of law. Students will explore how legal systems function, how lawyers build arguments, and how courts shape public policy and justice.

Participants learn from experienced legal practitioners, observe real or simulated court proceedings, and engage in interactive seminars focused on critical thinking, ethics, communication, and advocacy. Through mock cases and collaborative activities, students gain hands-on experience in legal reasoning and public speaking while exploring potential pathways into legal careers. By the end of the week, students will better understand how the law affects individuals, communities, and society.
