Flavonoids are a diverse group of plant compounds involved in pigmentation, protection, signaling, and other ecological functions. Based on Russ Hudson's The Formidable Book of Flavonoids, this introductory course explores what flavonoids are, how plants use them, where they appear in food and commerce, and how the human body consumes and metabolizes them. Learners then study prominent flavonoids found in cannabis, examine medical and therapeutic research, and explore synergy and cannabis as a flavonoid-producing plant.

Successful completion earns the Certificate in Foundational Cannabis Flavonoid Science. Learners who complete all four courses also earn the Certificate in Cannabis Secondary Metabolite Science.
